Snowboarding
Whether you're looking for a snowboard gap year, a snowboard academy alternative to traditional high school, a semester away from college, or you're an elite athlete looking for advanced snowboard coaching- RIDGE Mountain Academy has a program to help you meet your goals.
We look at snowboarding a little differently at RIDGE:
Freeride / Backcountry: Freeride / Backcountry snowboarding takes you beyond the confines of groomed slopes. Snowboarding in the backcountry allows you to find the deepest powder stashes, far away from crowded lift lines. You'll gain the skills and certifications required for planning backcountry trips. At the RIDGE snowboard academy, you'll have access to the latest in splitboard technology, receive coaching specific to backcountry touring, and you'll ride lines that few others ever see.
Freestyle: From riding in the park to dropping backcountry cliffs with style, spending your Gap Year snowboarding at RIDGE will allow you to progress through trick progressions faster than you thought possible. You'll deepen your bag of tricks while training at RIDGE snowboarding academy.
Snowboard Cross (SBX): Tap into your true potential and train to be a more aggressive, well-rounded athlete with RIDGE snowboard coaching. Develop the skills needed to become a bonafide SBX contender. You'll receive snowboard cross training from top level coaches. The 'Nate Chute' is an annual downhill snowboard race at Whitefish Mountain Resort- It's the perfect opportunity for you to race against pros and fast locals alike.
Here's how we integrate snowboarding into RIDGE campus based programs:
Snowboarding Gap Year at RIDGE: RIDGE snowboard coaches create rider- specific training programs, so you can get the most out of your Gap Year in Montana. You'll snowboard 6-7 days per week at the iconic Whitefish Mountain Resort with RIDGE coaches and other student athletes.
Snowboard training for elite athletes: You'll work with certified snowboard coaches all season to take your riding to the next level. Want to compete in freestyle competitions, improve your backcountry skill set, or prepare for a season racing boardercross? RIDGE Academy might be right for you!
RIDGE High School Snowboard Academy: When you take a semester off to snowboard with RIDGE, you'll be able to ride in the morning, and attend classes in the afternoon. You can schedule your class times with RIDGE coaches and academic advisors to ensure that you don't miss out on the next powder day.
