In Part 1 of the 2016 Winter Capstone Expedition Recap we traveled with the RIDGE student athletes as they moved into the Lodge at Valhalla Mountain Touring and found winter making one last stand with 30cm of fresh snow on the ground.
When we awoke on day 3 conditions had turned from stormy winter to sunny spring. We were literally watching spring take grasp of the Rocky Mountains as the snow began to melt from the trees and daytime temperatures were on the rise.
We immediately shifted focus from shredding powder to full-on alpine ascents.
