2016 Winter Capstone Expedition Recap (Part 1)

RIDGE Mountain Academy's Capstone Expeditions are culminating experiences at the end of every semester. Designed as an opportunity for student athletes to put their semester's training  to the test, capstone expeditions are custom built semester-by-semester. Last fall the crew traveled to Moab, UT for a week of climbing and mountain biking in the desert.

The RIDGE crew:

The winter 2016 Capstone Expedition was a week long backcountry skiing trip based out of the lodge at Valhalla Mountain Touring

We traveled from Whitefish, MT to B.C. Canada, then drove to snowline where we loaded a snowcat to travel back into winter and a lodge located in the mountains above 5,500 ft.

When we arrived at the lodge a late season storm had already dropped 10cm of fresh snow, that storm continued to deliver through the first few days of the trip.
